The RCCA seeks to champion and promote the arts to enhance the link between the artistic community and the city of Detroit, in a variety of ways:

• The People’s Arts Festival- an annual exhibition of painters, sculptors, wood and metal workers, gallery operators, photographers, printmakers, and other visual artists; filmmakers and others associated in the film community; musicians, spoken word and other performance artists.
• Selected RCCA sponsored gallery events and film screenings and other artistic activities.
• Fundraising activities associated with the creation of a proposed permanent RCCA Gallery of the Arts, a multi-use, multi-arts facility with global access, to be located at The Russell Industrial Center.
• The eventual Creation of a RCCA scholarship and grants program intended to provide educational funding for in-need students pursuing an arts education.
